Why convert CSV to Markdown?
CSV is the universal format for spreadsheet data — exports from Excel, Google Sheets and every database tool. But raw CSV renders as a wall of commas in documentation. Markdown tables turn it into readable, responsive docs that work on GitHub, GitLab, Notion and static site generators.
How parsing works
The converter detects the delimiter from the first non-empty line (counting commas, semicolons, tabs and pipes), then parses every line with full quote awareness — fields wrapped in "…" may contain the delimiter itself, and multi-line quoted fields are supported. Pipes inside CSV cells are escaped as \| so the Markdown stays valid.
Reverse direction
Switch to Markdown → CSV to pull a table out of a README or docs page: the separator row (|---|:---:|) and alignment colons are stripped, escaped pipes are unescaped, and plain CSV rows come out — ready to paste back into a spreadsheet.
